31 days of Halloween one day to go!!

With just one day to go before 31 Days of Halloween starts I thought I would post the rules and details of it here but if any time during the month you need a reminder have a look at the blog hop list to the right  and have a look at Terra's blog as all of the details will be there.

Wicked Blogger
The Rules:
Wicked Bloggers must post one project each day in October on their blog by 9AM Pacific time in order to qualify for the grand prize drawing. The project must be handmade and stamped with either a rubber or digi stamp from any company. This year we are once again allowing all digital projects as long as they are the bloggers original digital art.
Wicked Blogger projects must be "new" in that they can't have been posted anywhere before, including on your own blog, other blogs, forums, or other websites. In other words, no re-using previous projects. Bloggers are allowed to combine projects to fit into other scheduled postings; for instance, if you have to post a DT project that day or are following other challenge criteria, if you make your other-scheduled project Halloween themed, it can count for 31 Days as well. However, if you do not make it Halloween or Day of the Dead themed, you will need a separate post for 31 Days.

Horrifying Hopper

What You Have To Do:
Hop through each of the Wicked Blogs that are participating and leave a comment on each project. No need to sign up, just start on the first day and work your way through all the blogs. All Horrifying Hoppers will receive a Survival Button at the end of the month to proudly post on their blog.
The Rules:
You must leave a comment on EACH participating blog EVERY day in October to qualify for the grand prize drawing. Your comment should be about the project or something related (i.e.-no "Here's my comment for today" or "I'm here!"...these types of comments won't count!) If you miss a day or a blog, you will still qualify to receive a survival button, but will not qualify for the grand prize drawing.

Sinister Lurker

What You Have To Do:
Some of you can't participate all month long, and that's okay! Only Wicked Bloggers and Horrifying Hoppers are up for the grand prize drawing, but if you can't do either of those you will still have the chance to win some Lurker prizes! We will be hiding scavenger hunt pictures randomly throughout the month on various participating blogs...if you find one on any given day, you will be put in for that day's freebie drawing. It may be a coupon, a free digi, or a Halloween goodie, who knows! We are working on some great sponsor prizes for the scavenger hunt this year, and it will be well worth your time to visit every once in a while.
The Rules:
Scavenger Items will be hidden randomly on the Wicked Blogs, and are not guaranteed to be available every day. You will have to visit blogs to find them. If you find one, you will email and let us know exactly where it was and your name will go into that scavenger item's drawing. Each person who finds the "hidden" picture will get one entry. The drawing for each scavenger prize will be the day after it was posted and winners will be chosen by random number based on who emailed. Wicked Bloggers are able to participate and find scavenger pictures as well, unless it is hidden on their own blog.

Grand Prize Drawing
Doesn't this all sound like fun? I know WE can't wait!!
But wait, I know you are now asking yourself "What huge prize drawing at the end of the month are they talking about?" In addition to some awesome scavenger prizes provided by some pretty amazing sponsors, we are offering up a glorious concoction of 31 Days goodies worth over $300!

Tuesday Alchemy Random word, Gears, Blackboard and Tart

Hi everyone it's another random word week at Tuesday Alcmena I knew exactly what I was going to make as soon as I saw these words and have actually had me piece ready for a little while so i'm so excited to finally be able to share it!!

Our sponsors this week are floppy latte's who are giving one winner a £10 voucher and Craftycat957 who is giving one winner a graphics cd. for more info and the challenge rules head to the Tuesday Alchemy page.

My piece started off as a plain A4 sized blackboard. I panted the frame with an aqua paint dabber then when it was dry rubbed over with some gold rub and buff. I then added the gears and the dangly charm which is actually an ear ring I got from a charity shop. The image is from delicious doodles and is called steam punk sally

The raven on the front and the one in the little black frame inside are digis as are the skull and raven wings inside.

I do hope you will come and play along with us at Smudgy Antics

Critter Sketch Challenge

This card is a quick one I made earlier for the Critter Sketch challenge. I am useless at using sketches so I am challenging myself to try more often with them.Everything I used for this card was in my stash, I am also trying to start and use things up because my draws are overflowing!!
The stamp was free with a magazine and I have coloured it with promarkers.

Tuesday Alchemy Colour Challenge

Got another colour challenge for you today, this time it's with Tuesday alchemy and the colours are golden brown, mustard and navy blue.

We have 2 sponsors this week the first is Robyn's Fetish who are giving 5 digital stamps and scrapper's delights who are giving 3 digital stamps for more details have a look at the Tuesday alchemy blog.

I used a lovely digi from Robyn's Fetish for my piece this week. Now I have a confession, I've been struggling this past week and I'm afraid it reflects in my work :(  I am making sure I get plenty of rest again now though so will be back to my old self soon :)

The Stamp was coloured in with promarkers, I then put it onto a a piece of navy card and painted a golden brown frame on it before layering it on some mustard mulberry paper. I finished it off with a piece of navy ribbon and some mustard flowers.
I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for this challenge :)

Smudgy Antics Colour Challenge

This week at Smudgy Antics we are playing with colour...I kinda failed with this one as when I made my piece my pc was playing up and I couldn't see the colours all that well. I knew that there were grey and black in there  but the other colour looked like a grey yellow so that is the other colour I used!

My other fail is my photography skills! I just didn't manage to capture the piece as well as I would have liked so that is something I am challenging myself to learn, hopefully future photos will be much better!

I decided to make a tag as I hadn't made one in a while. The image I went with is Bear - candy is dandy I coloured it in shades of grey with promarkers and coloured the face in the yellow ( I know you can't tell) I then inked up the tag with greys then added some flowers and trim.

Hope over to Smudgy Antics to check out full details of this challenge and get your entries in! :D

Tuesday Alchemy Happiness, Love and Peace

Yay it's Tuesday and that means another Tuesday Alchemy Challenge! This week the theme is Peace love and Happiness!

Since International Peace Day is September 21st, we decided to celebrate it early and send out lots of peace, love & happiness. After all, you can never have enough of it in the world. Create & share ANY craft with us that includes peace, love & happiness. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
We are have two lovely sponsors this week, so two projects will be picked to win a fantastic prize.

This is my DT offering for the week. I  have used one the gorgeous images from Sassy studio desgins called sassy ghost and I decided to make my first ever monochrome card with it!

I coloured the image with promarkers and layered it with papers and card from my stash. the flowers I also coloured with promarkers to make as I had no black or grey flowers left.

The reason I decided to go for this image and this style is because I love the darker side to craft, my happiness comes from creating pieces like this one and well if you love what you do and it makes you happy then that is the place inner peace is made :)

I hope you will find time this week to come and play along with us at Tuesday Alchemy!

smudgy antics challenge Sugar and spice

Yay!!! some more awesome news to share!!! I can now announce that I am on the design team for smeared ink!!! I have admired the work of all the wonderful ladies on this design team so it a real honor to be asked to join them!!

This weeks challenge at Smudgy Antics is sugar and spice, I had a few ideas with this one but the one I went for was a sugar container...with a bit of added spice :D

Entries were a little thin on the ground last week, so it would be great if you my crafting friends could find a little time to come and play with us. You don't have to make anything dark something funny or quirky would be great! so if you fancy a change from cutesie and sweet give it a never know you might even find out you enjoy it! hehe

I brought a glass sugar jar, I had 2 of them for £1.50!! Then I wrapped around a piece of crepe paper that I had sprayed with glimmer mist to get the purply colour. I wrapped some purple lace from my stash around it then used Femdom - Dominatrix stamp from smeared ink for the front of the jar. The Sugar was printed out from my computer.

Halloween sauciness anyone?

Just doing a quick post to share something with you, I've been so busy making DT pieces that I've had nothing to share so I thought I would make something quick I can put on here :)

How fabulous is this Digi?! Ike is soo talented :D

She has been colouring in with promarkers and copics then layered on some graphic 45 card stock and some card stock from my stash.

I just love the sentiment it made me laugh when I first saw it .

Quoth the Raven Quest 13

Well 13 may be unlucky for some but for me it is very lucky, as this is my first quest as a Minion of the Master at Quoth the Raven! I am so very lucky to get this opportunity to work with such wonderful and talented ladies :D

So on to the Quest!

Perchance a small snippet to whet thine appetite.....

Quote:          "Come to me, by all means, my dear good friend, as soon as you receive this. Come and help us to rejoice. At last, by long persevering diplomacy, I have gained the assent of the Directors of the City Museum, to my examination of the Mummy --- you know the one I mean. I have permission to unswathe it and open it, if desirable. A few friends only will be present -- you, of course. The Mummy is now at my house, and we shall begin to unroll it at eleven tonight".

How now ? Doth thy mind not yearn to learn more of the encounter ? Art thou not eager to discover that which ensued.? The tale can be read in it's entirety HERE.

This is my offering for this week

This mummy's arm started it's life as a paper mache arm sitting on a shelf in hobby craft, it sort of jumped into my basket as I walked past and it would have been rude of me not to buy it!

To start with I painted the base of it black then I got some white crepe paper, sprayed it with water and dropped onto it some drops of antique linen distress ink from a re inker. I then heated it with a hot gun to dry it which made it crinkle and almost burned on the edges which makes it look old and dirty. I cut this into strips and bandaged up the arm until I was happy with it.

Now you might be looking at this and thinking the photo is on it's side...well it's not this hand has a purpose!

Yes my friends it is a key holder.

I do hope you will come and share your creations with us at Quoth the Raven

Tuesday Alchemy Anything goes!

This week over at Tuesday Alchemy we are having an anything goes challenge, so come along and share with us your wonderful creations! Our sponsors this week are

This is my favourite challenge theme because I get to be let loose and let my imagination run away with me! I wanted to do another altered project and went for this ring holder I picked up from the car boot a few weeks ago. the material on it was looking a little shabby and not in the good way so it needed some love to make it a pretty and usable piece again.

I used lots of lace and trims in this piece along with flowers from wild orchid crafts.  It's a very pretty piece fit for any shabby chic bedroom :)

I am also entering this into the following challenges...

Smudgy Antics Challenge TIC-TAC-TOE

I have been lucky enough to have been asked to be Guest DT this month for smeared and smudged and smudgy antics.

This weeks challenge at Smudgy Antics is  TIC-TAC-TOE

I went with the top line using metal, paint and ribbon to make my piece.

I have used an old tin can to make a flower pot. I cleaned out the pot and then painted it with a mix of brown yellow and copper acrylic paints. when that was dry I stuck some material over the top of the tin to prevent me from getting cut on it. the image I used on it is the smeared ink image Child Fae. I coloured this is promarkers and hot glued it to the front of the tin. I finished it off with the ribbon and bow at the bottom.

Alice in wonderland smeared ink style :D

I was so exciting when I saw the new AIW stamps from smeared ink. I certainly wasn't disappointing when I saw them, Alice has grown up somewhat and looks like she has grown up to be a bad girl :D

The challenge at Smudgy Antics this week is evil Alice so of course I have had to play along...although this is a very last minute entry, the week has just been manic!! I did have a couple of other ideas but unfortunately I didn't get the time to make those so decided to alter a manila file I had. I want to use this for storing all the stamped imaged I have printed or stamped until I colour them.

I used White rabbit and coloured it with a mix of promarkers, copics and distress ink. the folder I had smeared black and white paint on it, I just sort of mixed it and scraped it all over so there is some texture in it  there was no plan with it just enjoyed having fun playing with the paint, made me feel like being a kid again lol. The other things I used to decorate this were some pieces from the A Very Important Date paper stash library, some flowers from wild orchid crafts, trim for Suhufuha and lace from my stash.

I know it's not the best piece I could have made, but it serves a purpose so will be something I will probably add to and use almost daily :)
