Travel with a rainbow for Tuesday Alchemy

How would you like to travel with a rainbow of delightful colors? This challenge invites you to take a crafty trip with a stack of vintage suitcases courtesy of Machel Spence Photography, who has provided the inspirational photo.

You may share with us ANY craft that is inspired by the photo. It can be paper crafts like a card or something else entirely - perhaps a luggage tag or makeup bag.

I have created a Digital Layout using craft artist.

I do hope you can join us at Tuesday Alchemy and play along with this challenge.

Crumble it at Smudgy Antics

It's time again for another challenge over at Smudgy Antics and this fortnight it is crumble it, for us Brits we would say scrunch or crumple.  This is my piece

I wasn't sure about this card but then one of my lovely teamies said it looked old and sun bleached and I have to agree.

I stamped the background with the ink splatter rubber stamp from the inky dreams set, the sentiment is from the winged hearts rubber set as are the hearts and of course the main man is from the quoth the raven rubber set. The Quoth the raven and the winged hearts sets are both availible in digi too, this is the link to the smeared ink store where you will find all of their fabulous images and you will also find details of the rubber club there too.

The crumbled up part of my card is done with vellum, I scrunched it up inked over it then tore it into the pieces I wanted .

I do hope you will come and join us in this challenge.

I am entering this into the following challenges the Poe stamp is one of my fav stamps

Guardian of death

got another digi page for you for the Haunted design house challenge I am feeling it's not as fitting to the theme as it should be as it's not exactly gruesome, infact I find it a very easy on the eye piece....Maybe I should show it to all the lovers of pink and frilly and I am sure they would say it most certainly is gruesome...anyway enough of my mad ramblings.

I have used craft artist again to make this page using digital stamps from smeared ink.

Gruesome Guardians

This is my entry for the current challenge at Haunted Design House. I haven't been feeling too good so decided that a Digi page would be the way to go for now, hopefully I will get time in the week to make something real too :D

The digi kit I used is from Bear Necessities and it's called stunning gothic tagger kit. The gargoyle is from Delicious doodles.

I coloured the digi stamp and made the page in craft artist.

Full of flowers

I fancied a change so got out my La Blanche stamps, I picked a really nice flower one and stamped it onto some water colour paper. I have coloured it with distress markers then gone over it with a paintbrush and a bit of water to make all the colours spread and blend. I have layered different pieces of first edition Dessert Blooms and Prima Fairy Belle collection papers. The button, twine and lace are from my stash and the flowers are from wild orchid crafts.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges.

I'm watching you!

This is a digi page I have made for the very sketchy challenge over at smeared and smudged, there is a great prize for this month and you even get a free digi just for taking part!

I have used craft artist, daisy trails steampunk kits and digi stamps from smeared ink

One for the Boys

This card has been made this morning for a couple of challenges. The digi stamp is from Delicious doodles and is called coming home. The papers I have used are from my minds eye and the words are Tim Holtz word stickers.

Challenges I am entering with this card

Delicious doodles DT Call

I have found this really 3 favourite projects. I've looked back on my blog and found I actually have about 10 pieces that I really like. I have decided to go with my fav 2 cards, and one altered projects.

I really love using DD stamps, I love that I can use them for both the cute projects and the darker ones. I do still make cards but I enjoy getting messy so more of my projects are altered things or mixed media.

The first of the 3 pieces is a card using a Kenny K stamp.

The 2nd card is using a DD stamp, this is one of my fav stamps and I have used it in lots of projects.

And the 3rd piece is an altered piece...this was the hardest to pick from, the one I picked is one I made a long time ago and was one of my first darker projects.

Good Luck to everyone that is entering this DT call!

Altered Alice, smeared and smudged GDT challenge

This is a canvas I have made for the GDT challenge over at the smeared and smudged forum If you enjoy sharing your crafts and would like to get some inspiration from a group of seriously talented people then drop by and say hi!

I started by using 2 stencils and some modeling paste to make the cards and the spider web, then I covered the whole thing in gesso when it was dry. after that I added the colours I used mainly reds and burnt umber, I put the paints on mainly with a pallet knife to get some texture. when the paint was dry I sprayed over the whole thing with several different mists then let it dry again. Then I printed off the White Rabbit Single- Wonderland digi and coloured it, I cut out just the alice part as I wanted her lying on top of the cards. I did the digi tranfer and then inked over the edges and other bits with walnut stain distress ink. I will be doing a tutorial this week on the digi transfers.

To one in Paradise

I am rather pleased with this digi page, it is the first time I have digitally coloured a digi stamp...I've still got to practice far more before it's a decent standard, but I am pleased with my first attempt. This page has been made for the challenge at Haunted design house, Poe was certainly a ronantic even if he wasn't exactly blessed with luck when it came to love.

I have used 2 digi stamps from smeared ink, the poem was copied from the net here I used craft artist to put the page together.

As the poem isn't very eay to read on this picture here it is.
Thou wast all that to me, love,
For which my soul did pine-
A green isle in the sea, love,
    A fountain and a shrine,
All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers,
And all the flowers were mine.

Ah, dream too bright to last!
Ah, starry Hope! that didst arise
But to be overcast!
A voice from out the Future cries,
"On! on!"- but o'er the Past
(Dim gulf!) my spirit hovering lies
Mute, motionless, aghast!

For, alas! alas! me
The light of Life is o'er!
"No more- no more- no more-"
(Such language holds the solemn sea
To the sands upon the shore)
Shall bloom the thunder-blasted tree
    Or the stricken eagle soar!

And all my days are trances,
    And all my nightly dreams
Are where thy grey eye glances,
    And where thy footstep gleams-
In what ethereal dances,
    By what eternal streams.

day 3 of smeared and smudged's bloody valentine hop

Blog Roll
This 3 day hop has been a breeze after the 31 days of halloween and 12 days of Creepmas lol

Thank you for all the lovely comments you have left me it's always so lovely to read them

For those who has randomly come to me have a look at Tori's piece first then carry on with the blog roll to see all of the fab projects, also don't forget there are plenty of challenges you could be entering in too, there is the Smudgy Antics beating heart ATC challenge there is TIC TAC POE over at quoth the Raven which requires you make something Poe related using the grid given and then over at Tuesday Alchemy the theme is hearts all a flutter so you need to use something with hearts and wings, perfect for those who are using Decembers Rubber set from smeared ink. Ok that is enough plugging, onto my final project.

I have worked on a small canvas, using lots of different acrylic paints to give a texture almost flame look. the images of course are from smeared ink  and they have been coloured in with promarkers.

Smudgy Antics and Bloody Valentine blog hop

Before I start with todays post I just want to say that I was totally blown away by the entries in the last challenge. Well done to everyone that took the time to enter and congrats to the winner.

This fortnights challenge at smudgy antics is to make an ATC with the theme beating hearts. I've not made all that many ATC's before so I do find it a little out of my comfort zone but this is what I came up with.

I used kraft card to make my ATC then heated up some red embossing powder with some utee and let it drip into splodges on the card. When it was dry I sprayed over it all with some glimmer mists from my stash.
The senti I have hand wrote and stuck on. The heart is from the quoth the raven set  (which is this months rubber stamp set, if you are still thinking about getting this one I'd highly recommend it) and was hand stamped and coloured with promarkers then covered with utee.

This is also my day one piece for the Bloody Valentine blog hop if you haven't started at the top of the list please do and work your way down, I promise you won't be dissapointed by the talent in this hope.

Quoth the Raven Quest 18 TIC TAC POE

A new month and a new Quest over at Quoth the Raven. Hope delightful it was to see so many wonderful entries last month! This month we have another TIC TAC POE for you.

You can use any line of the grid to make your piece, I used the line going diagonally from top left to bottom right, however I did use some of the other things in the grid too.

I have altered a wooden thimble holder, I picked up a few of these in a charity shop a while back I knew I liked them, and that I could do something with them, just wasn’t sure what lol.
I started by painting the whole thing with black gesso, Then I used some white versamark chalk ink to stamp the nevermore and little hearts on the side, both stamps are from smeared ink.
After that I printed off all of the images, the raven is from a free digi Poe sheet, and the other images are from smeared ink and Ike’sart.
I coloured the images with promarkers and inked over them with walnut stain distress ink. The red roses, lace and skull are from my stash.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges. I have gone with the romantic twist I have got flowers on the top, didn't have any pearly left in my stash though :(
