Dripping with Smudgy Antics

First can I just say I am so sorry, I've really let the team down this challenge and I somehow managed to totally forget to post my piece on Monday :(

For this challenge at Smudgy Antics  we want to see how you ladies and gents can incorporate DRIPPING into your projects.  The more creative and out of the box the better!  We want to see how far you can take this challenge.
The more imaginative, the better your chances of a win.

If you have no clue what to do, you may use any medium that drips (faux blood, water colors, paints, enamels, etc).  You can use an image that has dripping on it (a zombie with dripping blood, a monster with dripping saliva, etc).  You may even use punches or die-cuts with a dripping edge.  There are so many ways to apply dripping to your projects so there is no excuse NOT to play along with us.

For my piece I have made a tag. I used one of the girls from the freaky girl set, she was coloured in with distress inks and attached to the tag which I had dripped alcohol inks all over to make the background. I added the skully and gems from my stash and then dripped melted bee's wax all over the tag.

I do hope you will come and join in with this challenge.

So lovely

I've got another pretty card for you this morning. I really do love the saturated canary stamps and wanted to play along with the current challenge which is to use the image 'lovely'. I coloured the image in with promarkers and layered it on papers from my stash. the flowers are from wild orchid crafts and the dew drops I brought from a store which was closing down.

Embossing with left of Center

Welcome back to another challenge here at Left of Center Creative Challenges!  The challenge this time is either follow an LOC theme- and/or Embossing- get out the cuttlebugs, Big Shots, embossing powders, etc.  Any kind of embossing is fine!

And we are thrilled to have Dilly Beans Digital Stamps as our sponsor this time!  Megan has some of the most versatile and unique images out there...so many styles and themes.  You will no doubt find a ton to add to your wish list!

I have made a card using different papers from my stash, I ran some through in different embossing folders and rubbed over lightly with sandpaper. The image I have coloured with promarkers and I'm quite pleased with :D

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges a lot of these are summer time themed and I think the colours and flowers just scream out summer  :D

Delicious doodles all creatures great and small

It's my teams turn to make pieces for this weeks challenge and I have to say I really enjoyed making this card.

The papers and image I used to make this are  Rose and Thistle papersRose and Thistle frame and Luna La Lupa. I coloured the image in with promarkers and layered the different papers up, I then used 2 strips of washi tape and 3 buttons to finish it all off. I do hope you will come and have a look at all the other DT makes and check out the challenge

Framed flowers magnet

Following the theme of the current Delicious Doodles challenge I have made a magnet using one of Teri's gorgeous framed flowers. The image I used is called Iris and butterfly. I printed the image out several times then coloured it. When it was all coloured I cut around the pieces I wanted to layer and stacked them up with silicone glue. I got a piece of matching 6" x 6" paper and stuck it onto a chipboard square, folded over the edges and glued them all down. Once the square was covered I attached the image on the front and a magnet on the back.

Texture with Smudgy Antics

It's week 2 of our current challenge at Smudgy Antics, this time we want you to create a piece full of texture.
For mine I have used a canvas and molding texture paste to create the honeycomb effect, when it was dry I painted it. I used the bees from Smeared Inks Queen digi set I coloured with with promarkers then dipped one completely in UTEE another I just dipped the wings in and the 3rd I left uncoated.

I do hope you will join us for this challenge.

GDT challenge at Smeared and Smudged

Each month one of the members of the smeared and smudged forum gets to host a challenge. This time the challenge is being hosted by the very talented Shoni who has picked the theme masks. I knew that the new Venice digi set from smeared ink would be perfect for this.

The first thing I did for this is print the background and 4 of the masks. On the background I inked on just some of the faces and used clear embossing powder on them, then i used distress inks to colour over it all. With the masks I used promarkers and a gold pen to colour in the masks, then I layered them up before adding glitter and diping them into the melt pot.  I glued the feather onto the back of the mask and put it all together with some backing paper from Debbi Moore.

Anything but square

This week has been such a busy week I've not really had time to do much crafting, however this evening I really did feel the need to make something. I spent time on Sunday just colouring in images so I would have some ready to craft with and this is one of those images. It's a free image from Rick st Dennis for the challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter blog. This isn't my usual style of image and I wasn't sure I could do it justice, certainly need more practice with the pens, I never was any good at colouring in hair!

As the challenge is anything  but square and no sharp edges I have altered this jar, it's not square and the edges are all rounded off. I've coloured the image with promarkers and added some glitter on the jewellry but it can't be seen very well on the photos. I used a die to cut out and layer up behind the image then used flowers from wild orchid crafts and some ribbon to finish it off.

The challenge can be found here

For anyone that doesn't know what this hop is about: it is the Smeared and Smudged annual Skull appreciation day blog hop. If you haven't started at the top then please do. I know it is a long list but I promise you all the amazing art and creativity will be worth it!

For this hop I have made a couple of pieces. The first is using the free smeared ink image we got for signing up for the hop.

I printed it twice, coloured it, cut it used 3d foam pads to layer them and dipped it in my melt pot, I then attached it to a hair comb along with a piece of pink ribbon.

My second piece is a dress broach, I was thinking I need to make me a new handbag to put this onto :D
I have used a skull digi from smeared ink, I printed it out several times, added some shading I cut out each skull and layered them up before dipping it into the melting pot. I then added some black lace before attaching it to the white cotton doily. To finish it off I added a pin to the back so I can attach it to what ever I want to.

hanging around

I've been playing around on a little canvas today, I had played around with this canvas before so there was lots of texture on it. I started by painting over it all with a brown gouache paint, then added more colour and depth. I am no artist so I am sorry that to some (probably most) this will just look like a big mess but I am hoping that you can at least make out the 2 nooses on there hanging from the tree's on each side.

I will be entering this into the current challenge at Haunted Design House.
